Colts Are Mos Eisley Troopers in Star Wars Universe

In celebration of the official release of the highly anticipated Star Wars: The Force Awakens Trailer II today, NFL.com recently revealed Star Wars helmets for all 32 NFL teams, just for fun. The designs were courtesy of John Raya and were highly impressive to say the least:

While we still prefer the “Classic Horseshoe” all things considered, it’s a pretty cool look for the team if they were actually a part of the Star Wars universe.  A bit of the horseshoe was actually somewhat kept to surround the Storm Trooper’s helmet, and the Star Wars blasters at the end of each side of the altered blue emblem (what once was the horseshoe) is a nice touch.

Of course, if you’re like me, the New England Patriots are the only “dark side” and all of the other “fair-playing” 31 NFL teams are part of the Rebel Alliance. It probably goes without saying that Bill Belichick would make one heck of an evil emperor, while Andrew Luck is the young and upcoming Jedi knight ready to defeat him. At least, that’s my theory and I’m sticking to it.

Either way, the “Storm of Blue” is a fun novelty if you’re both a fan of the Colts and a Star Wars nerd like myself. Among my other favorites are the Endor Ewoks (Kansas City Chiefs), Tatooine Banthas (Buffalo Bills), and Dathomir Rancors (Detroit Lions), but please be sure to check them out for yourself. Somehow, the New England Patriots are the “Coruscant Jedis” and not the “Evil Empire”, which is highly surprising.

Hopefully, the force will be with both Andrew Luck and the Colts this season, and his team can finally make that next jump and become the next Super Bowl Champions, while making both Indianapolis and Mos Eisley proud.
