Not many people believed the Indianapolis Colts would be in the playoffs at the conclusion of the 2023 NFL season and even fewer people thought they would when they lost Anthony Richardson to injury early in the campaign.
Yet, here they are entering Week 18 with a chance to secure a playoff berth. Not only do they have a chance to make the playoffs, but they completely control their own destiny.
Let's dive into their odds to pull it off.
Colts playoff odds
There are two different ways for the Colts to make the playoffs, but both require them beating the Houston Texans in Week 18. Therefore, you can either bet on them to just make the playoffs, or if you want to get extra aggressive, you can bet on them to win the AFC South at slightly longer odds.
At -132 odds, the Colts have an implied probably of 56.9% to make the AFC Playoffs. At +380, they have a 20.83% chance of winning the AFC South due to the added help they'd need in order to do so.
Colts playoff scenarios
It's quite simple for the Indianapolis Colts. Win and your in, lose and you're out. If they beat the Houston Texans in Week 18, they'll have locked up a wild card spot at least with a chance to win the AFC South.
They'll win the division if they're able to beat the Colts and the Jaguars get upset by the Titans.
Unfortunately, if the Colts lose to the Texans, no other result matters and they'll be eliminated from the playoffs. Therefore, if you want your best bang for your buck, instead of betting on them to make the playoffs at -132, I'd recommend simply betting on them to beat the Texans at -112. That way, you'll win more money if they're able to get the victory and the result won't be any different.
They're currently set as 1-point favorites on the spread and -112 on the moneyline.
