We all knew that it would be later rather than sooner that Anthony Richardson would return to the Colts lineup, but it was reported during Monday Night Football that he'll "probably" be out for the rest of the season.

That hurts Colts fans, who saw some exciting production from Richardson in the first few games of the season.

What is Anthony Richardson's injury?

Richard suffered an AC joint sprain in his throwing (right) shoulder during the Colts' Week 5 game against the Tennessee Titans. It has not yet been determined if he's going to undergo surgery or continue with rehab.

Colts Starting QB with Anthony Richardson Injured

Gardner Minshew is expected to continue to be the Colts' starting quarterback this season while Anthony Richardson is sidelined.

Through the first six weeks, he has completed 65.2% of passes for 882 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions.

Colts Odds After Anthony Richardson Injury

The Colts' odds didn't see a huge shift after it was announced Richardson could miss the entire season, as we already knew he'd be out for an extended period of time, but the numbers did see a dip that puts them in the conversation of being a non-playoff contending team.

Colts Super Bowl odds

The Colts have dropped to +15000 odds to win the Super Bowl, which means a $100 bet on them would win you $15,000 if they're able to achieve the improbable. Those odds translate to an implied probability of 0.66%.

Colts AFC South odds

If the Colts were able to beat the Jaguars in Week 6, they would have had sole possession of first place in the AFC South. Now, they're last on the odds list to win the division at +650. It's heartbreaking stuff for fans of the Colts.

Unless Minshew can turn into the best version of himself on a weekly basis, this news may spell the end of the Colts' hopes to make the postseason in 2023.
