2. Colts need to set a clear vision and direction

Have you ever wondered what on Earth is this football team doing either during a game or during the week? That was probably a dumb question because I find all of us questioning weird decisions each and every week this season. The Colts need to find a vision as to what their future is going to look like. Starting on Black Monday, Jim Irsay needs to start by making the decision as to whether Chris Ballard will remain as the general manager or not.

If Ballard is let go, there needs to be a quick hiring process to find the next person that will fill those shoes. This will allow the new general manager to start the hiring process for the next Colts head coach and trickle down from there.

Even when it comes to the hiring of the front office, the Colts should move quickly, but still, complete a quality hiring process. There is no point in rushing interviews just to hire the next Nathaniel Hackett, who became just the fifth head coach to get fired during their first season as head coach.

After getting the front office settled, the Colts need to make the next big moves in free agency and the Draft, identifying the franchise quarterback and filling key positions, including two on the offensive line.

Before camp starts this summer, the Colts’ vision for the season needs to be set and be identifiable by anyone that continues to give the organization their money. Nothing like rooting for a team that continues to disappoint each and every year, while fans continue to cheer for them no matter what location they are in. After all, we are not the
