The Indianapolis Colts signed 22 undrafted free agents this year, which guys impressed the most in training camp and the preseason?

This offseason for the Indianapolis Colts has seen a lot of guys become fan favorites as they make a push to climb up on the depth chart. The final 53-man roster cut date is Tuesday, August 30th. Indy has had more than a few players that have fought to make the roster.

However, there will be 27 players cut before the deadline. Even some of the more impressive undrafted rookies will be cut. This article is not necessarily about which players make the team, but more about which undrafted rookies have improved their stock and earned a spot somewhere in the NFL.

3. Jojo Domann

It would be impossible to talk about standout undrafted free agents without mentioning Jojo Domann. From the very beginning of camp, Jojo Domann has stood out. Since the first week, Domann was said to be flying around the field making plays. It’s no surprise to see Jojo Domann playing well. He’s somebody who would’ve got drafted if he didn’t have a history of injuries in college.

The Colts have released three unofficial depth charts during the preseason and Jojo Domann has been listed second on the depth chart at SAM linebacker only behind Zaire Franklin.

What sets Jojo Domann apart is his versatility. He played a good bit at slot corner for Nebraska. His versatility has shown in camp, with his ability to make plays on the ball as well as keep up with wide receivers downfield.

Domann had four tackles in the preseason game against the Bills. He took snaps at linebacker as well as on special teams. Jojo Domann has certainly made a case to be on Indy’s final 53-man roster, but even if somehow he didn’t make it, Domann has a spot in the NFL.

2. Dallis Flowers

Dallis Flowers has stood out at defensive back for Indianapolis during the preseason so far. In the first preseason game, against the Buffalo Bills, Flowers recorded two tackles and an interception. He then totaled six tackles in the second preseason game, against the Detroit Lions.

Pro Football Focus gave Dallis Flowers the fourth-highest grade out of all eligible cornerbacks in week one of the preseason. The main thing that has stood out for Flowers is his ball skills. He’s excelled at making plays with the ball in the air.

Coming from a Division II college, it’s safe to say Flowers may have gone unrecognized in college. He still has a pretty steep hill to climb to make the Colts’ roster but that’s mostly due to the depth that Indy has at defensive back.

Currently, Dallis Flowers is listed towards the back of Indy’s roster. However, even if Flowers doesn’t make the 53-man roster, he has done enough this offseason to put himself on teams’ radars so that he can get another opportunity.

1. Forrest Rhyne

One of the more impressive undrafted free agents for the Indianapolis Colts has been linebacker Forrest Rhyne. Rhyne has made a bunch of plays during the preseason. Currently, Indy has him listed as the second middle linebacker on the depth chart.

In the Colts’ second preseason game, against the Lions, he totaled 9 tackles, one tackle for loss, and one pass deflection. His pass deflection led to an interception by Tony Brown.

Rhyne has shown great instinct and wowed many fans during training camp. As of right now, all things point towards Forrest Rhyne making Indy’s 53-man roster. Even with a loaded linebacker room that has multiple guys vying for a spot, Rhyne has found a way to stand out.
