With inconsistency from the wide receivers in camp, should the Indianapolis Colts be thinking of options to bring in to help this group?
Outside of Michael Pittman Jr., there is no other receiver on this Indianapolis Colts team that has much experience. Maybe Keke Coutee, but he isn’t going to have a massive role on this Indianapolis team. Guys like Parris Campbell and Ashton Dulin have shown flashes and will have a role on this team, but injuries and inconsistency have been a problem with these guys as well. There is also rookie Alec Pierce, who is going to be a starter for the Colts. He has unfortunately been a victim to several drops in team camp.
Now, enough with all the doom and gloom, there have been some good plays that this group has made that have put fans on their feet in Westfield. Check out this video of Ashton Dulin rising up over the defense to make an acrobatic grab in traffic.

There is a good amount of optimism however with this group. Wide receivers coach, Reggie Wayne, has been very vocal at practices and is really shaping this young group to be a solid core going into the season. But, there are some questions still, so let’s dive in and see a few guys that Indy should keep an eye on in case the team is finally ready to add another receiver for help.
Target No. 1 – Will Fuller
One player that I would be taking a hard look at if I were the Colts is Will Fuller. In his career, he has 3,136 yards and 24 touchdowns. He played most of his career in Houston and played Indianapolis twice a year, so they are very familiar with him. He is a speedster that gets most of his production on deep shots down the field.
Fuller would bring a dangerous weapon on the outside to pair with Pittman and play alongside Alec Pierce and Parris Campbell. Fuller is going into his age 28 season and still has something in the tank. He did not play many games last season due to a past suspension that was taken into effect.
Fuller has also been targeted by some teams, but if he is wanting to step in and have a role on a team that is ready to compete, the Colts are the destination for him. The Matt Ryan effect is obviously something to take into account as well. If Fuller were to come to Indy this coming season, he will play with the smartest and most accurate quarterback of his career.

Target No. 2 – Odell Beckham Jr.
No, I was not talking about Cooper Kupp. The Colts have no chance at getting him! The wideout that I can realistically see Indy bringing in is three-time Pro Bowler, Odell Beckham Jr. Beckham, 29, is coming off of a Super Bowl win last season with the Los Angeles Rams. He has had a very illustrious career up to this point but has always been on teams with terrible quarterback play, with the exception of last season.
Odell is coming off of an ACL tear, however, and many people have questioned if he will be able to come back and be like Odell of the past. I think that you have to roll the dice if you are the Colts with Odell. He is a highlight reel waiting to happen. When he is on the field healthy, he draws so much attention. If anything, he would draw a team’s top corner to cover him to open up other things in this Indy offense.
There is only one question… Would Odell even think about coming to the Colts? Well, Odell took to Twitter to talk about the moves that Indy’s front office made this summer, and he seemed to like it.

Odell is still a possibility. The idea of him coming to Indianapolis gained a lot of steam about a month of go. However, there have been no serious talks between the Colts and Beckham to note of. Maybe Indy will surprise everyone and bring him in so that he can be a late-season weapon once he returns from his injury.

Target No. 3 – T.Y. Hilton
Yes, I settled with a homer pick here! But, I really do believe that the Colts should #BRINGBACKTY! I think that the four-time Pro Bowler, and fan favorite, T.Y. Hilton, still does have something left in the tank. Hilton, 32, is still unsigned at the time but has also drawn interest from the Dallas Cowboys. I think that T.Y. would not only have an impact on the field for the Colts but maybe even more off the field.
With being in this organization for his whole career, I believe that it would be wise for Indianapolis to bring Hilton back on the roster. He has battled injuries the last couple of years that have sidelined him more than ever in his career. Get him healthy in an offense as dangerous as the Colts have the potential to be, and see what happens.
I believe that T.Y. could serve as a player coach on this team. With such a young receiving core that the Colts have, adding a leader that knows the system, as well as Hilton does, would be a solid idea to help develop the younger guys. In 10 years, Hilton has a total of 9,691 yards and 53 touchdowns. He has been there, he has done that.
I believe that he can have a big impact on this roster and that the Colts need to strongly consider bringing him back home. It will be hard to see him playing in another jersey. I hope that we do not have to worry about that! Colts, BRING BACK TY!
