Welcome to the show, Michael Pittman Jr.! The Colts rookie’s first NFL TD was ridiculous.

Though Sunday’s battle with the Packers started off on the wrong foot for the Colts, Indy quickly got saved by a fleet-of-foot rookie.

Down 7-0 thanks to a Robert Tonyan TD from Aaron Rodgers (it’s pronounced like Funyun), the Colts managed to strike right back when Michael Pittman Jr. put the very first score of his NFL career on the board.

This catch-and-run from near midfield will enter the history books, and MPJ had to do a lot of work to ultimately weave his way all the way to the end zone.

Be honest: At what point did you know he had it? Around the 20? Little bit later?

It was never clear, and there was never a breakaway involved, but if you get Pittman Jr. into some kind of space, it’s very clear he can reward you.

Indy’s second-rounder and top pick in the 2020 Draft out of the University of Southern California hasn’t had a slow start to his career, per se, but he did battle a toe injury in the early weeks of the season. The reins haven’t fully been off along the way, and his status as the team’s premier deep threat has been somewhat in question, as he’s had to fend off challenges from Marcus Johnson. It’s clear, though, that we’re closer than ever to Pittman peaking at exactly the right time — sorry, TY Hilton, there may not be room for you next year.

Pittman’s Colts teammates were obviously thrilled for him to knock the goose egg out of his touchdown column. Clearly there’s no envy in that wide receiver room — just ask the injured Parris Campbell.

We hope that’s the first of many for the USC stud.

Heck, who are we kidding? We hope that’s the first of many today.
