FORT COLLINS, CO - OCTOBER 1: Wide receiver Michael Gallup

The Colts have added a lot of young talent in the first four rounds of our most recent mock draft, and they continue to do so in the final three rounds.

In the first round of our most recent mock draft, the Colts added a talented linebacker to build their defense around. They filled various needs on their roster with three second round picks, and they added some key depth in rounds three and four.

With these picks on the board, general manager Chris Ballard still needs to add some talent on the perimeter and on the offensive line.

Here are the final three picks of mock draft number three.

Round 5: 140th Overall Pick

Pro Football Focus has Michael Gallup ranked as their top wide receiver in this year’s draft class, but he may be available in the later rounds.

Gallup was absolutely dominant during his two years at Colorado State with 2,690 yards receiving and 21 touchdowns combined. He’s not big, but he has decent size at 6′ 1″ 205 pounds and he has adequate speed running a 4.51 40-yard dash at the Combine.

With this year’s free agent signings and the two wide receivers taken in this mock draft, the Colts’ receiving corps could be very dangerous in 2018.

Round 6: 178th Overall Pick

The Colts’ depth chart at cornerback has been left pretty thin after Rashaan Melvin signed elsewhere in free agency, and Chris Ballard hasn’t addressed that position yet in free agency.

Fortunately there should be an extremely talented cornerback available in the later rounds in Darius Phillips.

Phillips racked up 35 pass breakups and 12 interceptions over his last three seasons at Western Michigan where he showed fantastic ball skills. He’s not an amazing athlete with a 4.54 40-yard dash time at 5′ 10″ and 190 pounds, but his technique at the cornerback position should give him a chance to succeed.

More from Horseshoe Heroes

The Colts have already selected two offensive linemen in this mock draft, but adding depth in the trenches should be a top priority for Chris Ballard.

Richardson started for two-and-a-half years at NC State, and he was an outstanding pass protector as well as a strong run blocker.

Spending resources on the offensive line is never a bad idea, and this would be a solid use of the final pick of the draft.
