No. 1: Running Back

With Frank Gore, Dan “Boom” Herron, and rookie Josh Robinson already in the fold, it’s unclear whether the Colts will elect to carry 4 running backs, when it’s all said and done. However, with Robinson’s concussion status, the team could opt to keep around a healthy running back in undrafted rookie Tyler Varga or 2nd-year running back Zurlon Tipton for extra insurance.

There’s no question Varga impressed last week, rushing for his 1st NFL touchdown. While the returning Tipton has proven experience, having appeared in 6 games last season and taken over primary backup responsibilities from he-who-shall-not-be-named Trent Richardson late last season.

Either way, each of the two aforementioned running backs is expected to receive a major bulk of the carries tonight and will receive ample opportunity to leave a lasting impression.  While both could ultimately lose out on a roster spot here, they’ll still be able to stake their case for a potential practice squad spot.
