The latter half of the 2014 season was Moncrief’s coming out party, where he cemented himself as the Colts big-play threat. Like Philip Dorsett, Moncrief is blessed with stellar speed and he uses that to his advantage by just bolting past secondaries in the slot position. That is what makes Moncrief so dangerous in 2015, he will be the Colts slot receiver. Most times slot guys are matched up with safeties or even linebackers. Moncrief immediately has the advantage over any safety or linebacker because he can just beat them with his speed and get open. With that being said, expect a lot of big plays from Moncrief in the coming year, but also I can see games where Moncrief will get ten receptions. It’s part of a wide receivers development to become more that a big-play threat, T.Y. Hilton has done it, and now it’s time for Moncrief to take that next step.
