According to the Baltimore Sun’s Aaron Wilson, the Indianapolis Colts are among the NFL teams that are demonstrating late interest in West Carolina wide receiver Karnorris Benson:

The 6’1″, 205 pound wide receiver caught a team-high 43 receptions for 684 receiving yards and 5 receiving touchdowns in 11 games during his senior season. He was named 2nd-Team All-Southern Conference by the league’s head coaches.

Benson finished his Catamount career as one of the school’s all-time leading receivers with 2,386 receiving yards (8th), 153 catches (7th), and 23 touchdowns (2nd) respectively. Not to mention, his 12 receiving touchdowns in 2013 tied a school record.

Benson ran a 4.5 forty time at West Carolina’s pro day.

While the Colts appear set atop their wide receiver depth chart with T.Y. Hilton, Donte Moncrief, and Phillip Dorsett, the team could use additional depth at the position.

Benson has a nice “height/speed” combination to make him an intriguing late round or priority undrafted free agent wide receiver prospect for the Colts or another NFL team.
