As previously speculated, the NFL has officially set this upcoming year’s salary cap at $155.27M:

Currently, the Indianapolis Colts are projected to have around $22-25M of cap space, which includes the team’s $4.951M extra unused cap space that was recently carried over from this past season:

With Andrew Luck‘s mega-extension looming, as well as other key players due for new contracts, the Colts aren’t expected to be major players in free agency though such as in recent offseasons.

Something that general manager Ryan Grigson recently alluded to at the NFL Combine:

"“I would say this year is a little different than in years past,” said Grigson on Thursday. “Just because of some of the financials we have on the horizon. Somewhat like 2012, where we tighten our belt, but have to scout our rear ends off. And that’s a challenge. It’s something we enjoy doing. It’s fun.”"

However, the team theoretically may have enough cap space to add another piece or two, as even additional cap space could be freed up by releasing high-priced veteran players such as Andre Johnson and Trent Cole in the upcoming weeks.

That being said, the Colts will look to build and improve primarily through the draft, which is more of a sustainable model for long-term success if executed properly over free agency anyways.
