Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee has been named an NFL Salute to Service Award Finalist, along with Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Vincent Jackson:

McAfee was named as the Colts nominee 11 weeks ago, as he embodies the spirit of the award in regards to his exceptional service to the lives of military personnel and their families:

"“McAfee was nominated for the Salute to Service Award for his continued commitment to military and their families. Through his foundation, McAfee has provided more than $150,000 in scholarships to the sons and daughters of U.S. military. In addition, he regularly provides assistance to military families who are going through hardships through his work with Wish for Our Heroes, a non-profit organization based in Indianapolis, Ind.”"

It’s worth noting that Jackson was a finalist last season as well, so it’s definitely a tremendous honor for both players to receive such a highly regarded award and speaks to their high character as individuals.

The winner along with the NFL’s other awards will be announced on Saturday, February 6, during “NFL Honors” night which takes place a day before Super Bowl 50.
