The Indianapolis Colts announced their inactive players for Sunday’s 1 PM EST matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars:

"QB Andrew LuckS Winston GuyCB Greg TolerILB Jerrell FreemanOLB Daniel AdongoOT Anthony CastonzoOLB Erik Walden"

Obviously, both starting defensive players in cornerback Greg Toler (knee) and outside linebacker Erik Walden (foot) are the newest additions to this week’s inactive list. Toler was able to practice on a limited basis some this week, whereas Walden did not practice throughout the entire week.

In Toler’s absence, look for cornerbacks D’Joun Smith and Jalil Brown to tag-team the outside cornerback job on the other side of starter Vontae Davis. Meanwhile, Trent Cole should get the start in Walden’s place, with backup Jonathan Newsome also seeing an increased role.

Starting inside linebacker Jerrell Freeman will miss his second consecutive start with a hamstring/rib injury, as he did not practice all week. Only this time around, the team will be without Nate Irving to fill-in, who was placed on season-ending injured reserve earlier this week with a wrist injury.

That likely means backups like Sio Moore and Josh McNary could see a lot of time at inside linebacker against the Jaguars.

It’s also worth noting that starting left tackle Anthony Castonzo (knee) will miss his 3rd start in a row, which means offensive tackle Joe Reitz will once again slide over to the left side with rookie Denzelle Good filling in at starting right tackle. The team did get some positive news along the offensive line though, as starting guard Hugh Thornton should return to the lineup after missing last week’s game.

Andrew Luck is also continuing to throw and was able to do conditioning exercises this week, but still didn’t practice as he recovers from a lacerated kidney. It’s possible that he could return for next weekend’s game against the Houston Texans however. As such, it’s another week of veteran backup Matt Hasselbeck starting, who struggled in last Sunday night’s loss and will look to turn things around.

Otherwise, reserve outside linebacker Daniel Adongo was declared inactive earlier this weekend, as he’s currently under police investigation for a domestic disturbance that occurred at his Fishers residence.

As a whole, the Colts are pretty banged up for this time of season. Here’s hoping some of these players will start getting healthy soon for the stretch run before the playoffs.
