Colts at Steelers Injury Report: Adams, Castonzo still Out

The Indianapolis Colts hit the road to face the Pittsburgh Steelers this week and we have the latest injury updates for both teams.

The Colts are likely to be facing the Steelers without a few key members of the team this week. Safety Mike Adams and left tackle Anthony Castonzo both sat out the first practice of the week today.

Adams has missed the past two game with an ankle injury that was originally not thought to be serious. Coach Chuck Pagano is hoping that he can return to work tomorrow.

Castonzo (knee sprain) is still listed as week-to-week and likely won’t make it back to the field this week. He’s highly unlikely to play against the Steelers this weekend, which means the Colts will be going with last week’s shaky offensive line once again.

Linebacker Jerrell Freeman has already been ruled out for Sunday with a grade two hamstring strain. This has been an issue throughout Freeman’s career and could keep him out for more than one week.

Guard Hugh Thornton was held out of practice today with an elbow injury. Outside linebacker Erik Walden was also out with a heel injury. Walden was held out of two practice last week before being limited on Friday and listed as questionable. Walden was able to played, and had two sacks against the Bucs.

Phillip Dorsett is still out, and not likely to return to the field this week. He might be able to start working out again this week, but it is highly unlikely he’ll be on the field against the Steelers.

Andrew Luck is still out, likely for the next two weeks, but he has been cleared to do some work. He was allowed to throw the ball for the first time this week, and while it doesn’t mean he’s healed it is a sign of progress.

Four veterans were given the day off for rest. Andre Johnson and Robert Mathis had the day off and were joined by Trent Cole and Vontae Davis (who missed practice last week with a sore hamstring). Despite saying he’s “beat to crap” Frank Gore was not given a day off, not that he’d probably want one.
